Thinking of giving it?

Why not even a littleZinc tablets, syrup and zinc oxide cream: usually vomiting only. The lethal dose of zinc salts is about 100 mg per kg. Any swallowed metal object containing zinc has to come out — one US penny holds about 2,440 mg.
WhyStomach acid dissolves zinc from swallowed metal, and the absorbed zinc destroys red blood cells, often days later. Zinc supplements and creams are poorly absorbed and low risk unless a lot is eaten.
