Can my dog eat thyroid tablets?

No.

Unless your vet prescribed this exact medicine for this dog at their dose. A tablet or two of Thyrox rarely harms a dog — a chewed box can.

Thinking of giving it?

Why not even a littleA few tablets rarely cause problems — vets give hypothyroid dogs around 0.02 mg per kg twice a day, many times a human dose per kg. Large overdoses, like a chewed box, cause a racing heart, panting and tremors.
WhyDogs clear thyroid hormone much faster than people, which is why vets prescribe it to dogs at higher doses. A large overdose still overstimulates the heart and nervous system.
