Can my dog eat flea treatment?
A little.
Only a dog product, in your dog's weight band, used as the label says. Never a livestock product, and never put a dog product on a cat — some can kill cats.
Thinking of giving it?
How much is fineMatch the weight band exactly. Keep cats away from a treated dog until the spot-on is fully dry, at least a day.
WhySpot-ons go between the shoulder blades so they can't be licked off, and the weight band sets the dose. Dog spot-ons with permethrin are safe for dogs but deadly to cats.
Already ate it?
If they ate itLicked a spot-on: drooling or foaming from the bitter taste is common and usually passes — wipe their mouth and give water. Ate a whole pack of chews: call your vet with the box. Twitching or tremors: go to a vet now.
Watch forDrooling, vomiting, diarrhoea within a few hours; twitching, tremors or wobbliness mean a vet straight away.
