Can my dog eat antacid?

A little.

A tablet or two is usually low risk. But don't use antacids to settle a sick dog at home — vomiting or a bad stomach needs finding out why.

Thinking of giving it?

WhyVets do prescribe some of these (omeprazole, famotidine) for dogs, at their own doses. A chewed packet mostly means a stomach upset; the bigger risk is treating a symptom that needed a diagnosis.

Already ate it?

If they ate itA tablet or two: watch at home. A chewed packet or most of a bottle of syrup: call your vet with the name and strength.
Watch forVomiting, diarrhoea or constipation over the next day.

A guide, not a diagnosis. If your dog seems unwell, call your vet.
