Can my dog eat cigarettes?

No.

Nicotine is a fast poison for dogs. Cigarettes and butts, naswar, gutka, paan with zarda, nicotine gum and vape liquid are all dangerous — vape liquid most of all.

Already ate it?

If they ate itGo to a vet now and tell them what it was (cigarette, butt, naswar, gum, patch or vape refill) and roughly how much. Take the packet — nicotine gum can also contain xylitol. Don't make them vomit unless a vet tells you to.
Watch forDrooling, vomiting, diarrhoea, agitation, racing heart, fast breathing, tremors, then weakness, wobbliness, fits or collapse — usually within 15 to 60 minutes.

Thinking of giving it?

Why not even a littleSigns are reported from about 1 mg of nicotine per kg of body weight; around 9 to 12 mg per kg can kill.
WhyNicotine over-stimulates the nerves, heart and gut, and has a narrow safety margin in dogs. Many dogs vomit it up quickly, but a small dog can be badly poisoned by one or two cigarettes or a few drops of vape liquid.
