Can my dog eat chaat?چاٹ

No.

Chaat is salty and spicy, usually with onion, and the imli (tamarind) chutney has been linked to kidney failure in dogs. A bite isn't an emergency; a plate is a call to your vet.

Already ate it?

If they ate itA bite is fine. A whole plate: make sure fresh water is available and call your vet today, especially if it had imli chutney. Don't make them vomit unless a vet tells you to.
Watch forVomiting, thirst or diarrhoea within hours (salt and spice); vomiting, then less or no urine over 1–3 days (tamarind).

Thinking of giving it?

WhyEven fruit chaat is a problem once the chaat masala goes on — it carries a lot of salt. Tamarind contains the same acid now thought to cause grape poisoning.
