Can my dog eat apricot?خوبانی
A little.
Only the fresh flesh, stone removed. The stone is the danger — it can choke or block the gut, and crushed stones release cyanide compounds.
Thinking of giving it?
How much is fineA piece or two of fresh stoned flesh.
WhyThe stone, leaves and stems of apricot and peach contain compounds that release cyanide when chewed and crushed. A swallowed whole stone is mostly a blockage risk. Dried apricots are not poisonous, just concentrated sugar and often sulphites.
Already ate it?
If they ate itDon't make them vomit unless a vet tells you to. Small dog, or more than one stone: call your vet today. Bigger dog, one stone: watch closely for 3 days and call the vet at the first sign below. If they chewed up several stones, call your vet now.
Watch forRepeated vomiting, not eating, a sore or swollen belly, straining with little or no stool, or lethargy — usually within 1–3 days. After chewed stones: drooling, fast breathing, dilated pupils or bright red gums within hours — go to a vet.
